The Polecats – Make A Circuit With Me

by Tom in Music

Here is this week’s song off my iPod. A DJ from WBAB gave me this song that I hadn’t heard in years.

The Polecats - Make A Circuit With MeThe Polecats are a rockabilly group formed in North London in the late 1970′s. The members of the group are Tim ‘Polecat’ Worman (Vocals, Guitar), Martin ‘Boz’ Boorer (Vocals, Lead Guitar), Chris Hawkes/Neil Rooney/John Buck (Drums), and Phil Bloomberg (Slap bass).

The group had their best success in Britain in the early 80′s but continue to tour even today in Europe, Japan, and the US. The band has released 16 albums with their most recent being Rockabilly Cats which was released two years ago. However, the groups only song to reach the charts in the US was “Make a Circuit With Me” which was released in 1983.

Make A Circuit With Me
A sweet romance is not for me
I need electricity
If you wanna make me flip
Hit me with a micro chip

[Chorus]
I’ll be a diode, cathode, electrode
Overload, generator, oscillator
Make a circuit with me

Just plug in and go-go-go
I’ll be your human dynamo
Signals in my power cord
Impulse on my circuit board

[Chorus]

I’m an AC/DC man
You can read my circuit diagram
I feed on electric jolts
I need fifty-thousand volts

[Chorus]

A sweet romance is not for me
I really need electricity
If you wanna make me flip
Come on and hit me with a micro chip

[Chorus]

I’m an AC/DC man
You can read my circuit diagram
I feed on electric jolts
I need fifty-thousand volts

[Chorus]

Oneonta

by Tom in Random Life Events

This is a little late, but back in the winter we took Beth and her friend Alexandra up to Oneonta to take a look at the State University of NY at Oneonta and Hartwick College. Oneonta is a college town located in the Catskill Mountains between Albany and Binghampton. When I say it is a college town, I mean that it is a small town having a population of 14,000 people and two colleges with a total student body of 8,000 students. I don’t think Beth was particularly impressed with the schools or the town. I don’t think she liked the idea of living so far away from civilization. I think Alex liked SUNY Oneonta and the town much more.

I had some much better pictures but I lost one of my two cameras somewhere in the town. So I have no pictures of the school itself. Anyway, here are some pictures of the town.

Here are the girls as we walked around trying to get a feel of Oneonta.

There are a lot of churches of all different Christian religions in the town but we didn’t spot a synagogue. We noticed a lot of what I guess you would describe as Christian fundamentalist bumper stickers when we drove through Hartwick College.

Here’s a look down the main street. There really was only one main street in the town and it really wasn’t very long. We didin’t find too much trouble parking but this was during the winter break so I think a lot of students had taken off for other sites for the week.

I think Michel liked the small shops in the town. She found a few interesting things to buy.
